FOUR SEASONS LODGE. The film is making its NY debut after receiving rave reviews at SilverDocs earlier this year.
It takes a look at a lively and dynamic community of holocaust survivors who have summered together in the Catskills (NY) for the past thirty years. Interesting enough the film is directed by New York Times reporter Andrew Jacobs and really captures a rich oral history of the darkness of Europe’s death camps and the group’s continued quest for inner peace in their lives now – in spite of haunting memories. It’s also beautifully photographed by a team of cinematographers led by Albert Maysles (Gimme Shelter, Grey Gardens).
The film will screen at the United Artists Theater in East Hampton on Friday, Oct. 17 at 12 pm, and Saturday, Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. I’ve pasted information for you. http://fourseasonsdocumentary.com/index.html

Dow below 10,000!
From the Associated Press — Wall Street tumbled again Monday, joining a sell-off around the world as fears grew that the financial crisis will cascade through economies globally despite bailout efforts by the U.S. and other governments. The Dow Jones industrials skidded nearly 500 points and fell below 10,000 for the first time in four years, while the credit markets remained under strain.

We are a big fan of Sylwia Pydych, and the above painting tells you why. If you want to check out her stuff, you can see it Sunday October 12 from 7pm-9pm at the local boutique Bonne Nuit on Main Street in East Hampton.
Sylwia Pydych has worked and studied with Ron Hicks, Robert Liberace, Hung Nian Zhang and David Leffel. Her influences have been Classical artists such as John Singer Sargent, Andres Zorn, Ilia Repin, Ivan Kramskoy and Rodin. Both commercial and private clients have commissioned Sylwia and her paintings and sculpture can be found in private collections in the United States and Europe.
She is a very lovely and talented lady with a brush. Go check it out!

I will be the happiest guy in the world if this is true. We just heard a rumor that Victoria’s Secret is going to do a photo shoot for a new line out on one of the East End beaches. It is top secret because so many men flock to the beach to watch a shoot.
OH MAAAAAAAAANNNNN!!!!!

The Tuma Agency in Montauk, a local real estate brokerage has fallen prey to the real estate melt down. Such a bummer. The store space is now for rent. Not sure who has the listing.

Will oil companies be drilling off your ocean front home? Chances are looking pretty good they will be when the coastal oil drilling ban is lifted. Many residents of the Hamptons are concerned that their ocean view might be destroyed when an oil rig decides to open up shop 3 miles off the shore! Might be poetic justice for the fat cat oil guys that own in the Hamptons. But it is really upsetting residents everywhere. Will this happen???
