The talk of the town was Vice President Joe Biden visiting Westhampton Beach last weekend, but it was a whisper amongst Pierce Brosnan and Alec Baldwin at the HIFF. He flew in on Air Force Two, shutting down most of the airport and making his appearance in Southampton.
Other than that, nobody is really too sure what the heck he was up to hear as he didn’t have any speeches to do or anything like that. Maybe he was here like the rest of New York, to get a glimpse of Pierce Brosnan and Sharon Stone.

Interested in purchasing a Bio-Safety Level 3 island from the government? Then Plum Island may be just what you are looking for!
Homeland Security spokesperson John Verrico said that Plum Island, well known for studying diseased animals and being the subject of the thriller novel, “Plum Island”, said that the island is going to be shut down and the US government is going to sell it to the highest bidder.
Yes, it’s true, you could be the next Gardiner family with a island attached to you name! But wait there’s more. The property offers wonderful views of Gardiner’s Bay and the Long Island Sound, is just a hop and a skip away from Orient Point, probably is safe from not getting any diseases because you can count on government workers when it comes to anything, and you can be the weird guy in town who thought it would be cool to live on a former animal disease center.
Proceeds from the sale of Plum Island will go towards the construction the new Bio Safety Level 4 facility in Kansas. Ever see the movie “Outbreak” or read about Ebola? That’s the level 4 stuff.

East Hampton Town Supervisor Bill McGintee resigned this morning, writing a letter that stated, “I have devoted my entire professional career to the Town of East Hampton and I believe that resigning now is in the town’s best interest. Ending this matter allows me to provide ongoing assistance to the District Attorney’s office as its investigation continues, and to spend more time with my family.”
Pete Hammerle will become Supervisor of East Hampton temporarily.
Now I guess we can blame Pete for the worst economic recession since the Great Depression.

Wow.
A dead body was spotted floating in the surf in Sagaponack. After an investigation police determined that it was a Sag harbor man who is 60-years-old and committed suicide. The dead body was spotted near Peters Pond Lane and was reported by a jogger.
There was a gunshot wound to the man that appeared self inflicted. Police are not giving any information about the man’s name.
So very sad.
