This is not my yacht.
Island Global Yachting, the Montauk Yacht Club’s parent company, is going to renovate MYC like crazy this year. The question is, will the town let them? As preparations are made for an expansive renovation this winter, the lawsuits that IGY inherited when the bought the Yacht Club have come back into light. According to all reports however, IGY is looking for a compromise to the lawsuits that were filed by the previous owner when the town did not allow an expansion of condominiums to the property.
The Yacht Club, which by the way is completely open to the public, is going to have a complete renovation of nearly all of its facilities.

Bartenders
A few bartenders in Southampton were arrested after police set up a sting operation to make sure that minors were not being served underage. The bartenders were approached by an underage, undercover agent, who was in the sting with police, and presented a fake ID at the bar. When the bartender brought over drinks, the bartenders were immediately put into handcuffs by police and sent directly to jail.
The bartenders were charged with unlawfully dealing with a child and unlawful sale of alcohol to a minor.

What’s wrong with this picture? There is no flag hanging!
Our good friend Pierre over at Pierre’s in Bridgehampton has had his French flag ripped off of his restaurant on two seperate occassions, the last one as recent as last week. The always relaxed Pierre isn’t sure if it was some drunk destroying property or if it is somebody that has a problem with French Flags. “I’m thinking that I’m going to buy one of those dual flags that have an American flag and a French flag on it,” Pierre told me this morning. “Then if the French flag gets stripped again, I’ll really know.”
The very nice restauranteur who is known for having one of he classiest restaurants in Bridgehampton said, “If it’s a problem with the flag, perhaps I’ll post up there a copy of my American passport.”

This is the face of Anthony Oddone of Farmingville who, while intoxicated, choked to death a 40 year-old bouncer named Andrew P. Reister at the Southampton Public House last Thursday. We are all just stunned here, there hasn’t been a murder in Southampton since 1988. Andrews day job was working as a correction officer and is from Hampton Bays. People tried to stop Mr. Oddone from holding the choke, but couldn’t get him off Andrew, who passed out and died at Stony Brook University Medical Center.
Our prayers are with the family of Andrew P. Reister. A husband and a father of two children.

You guys should do a story on the killer swan at East Hampton town pond. It was sitting in the middle of the road Wednesday and when I honked to have it get it out of the way it started pecking at my whole car repeatedly. It also pecked on the car behind mine! Swans attacking cars seems a little off the natural audobon order of things. I am a very passive person and did nothing to provoke the attack. How do I explain THIS to Geico? When I mentioned it to friends they said they’ve had similar run ins. Want to see my car?!
