This was not a good weekend for the antisocial.
There were so many parties on Saturday night that no one was left without a glamorous memory or four (not that we can remember them). The following hyper-fabulous hosts threw the best bashes of all:
Russell Simmons: One friend described the scene as “Downtown Cipriani but better.” Socialites and vegetarian-dishes were the theme of his at-home BBQ.
Ross Bleckner: Calvin Klein, Andre Balazs, Jeff Sharp and several other bold-faced-names attended this highly anticipated evening benefiting AIDS research.
Lisette Sand-Freedman: Co-owner of Shadow PR, LSF had her 30th Birthday party at The Estate on Noyak Path. The theme was 13 Going on 30, with a mansion disguised as a Bat Mitvah. Guest included Star Jones and Jamie Lynn Sigler. The after party was at Pink Elephant, where PDiddy had a table too.
Ron Perelman: Ron held his annual bash this weekend - but kept the mood a bit more mellow, as he and fellow friends honored his ex-wife, and dear friend, Claudia Cohen.

The Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett had local phenom Telly play at their Industry Party last Tuesday night. But the usual solo man, who is known for his crystal clear voice and stage presence, was not alone on the famous stage, which has felt the feet of musicians like Jimmy Buffett and the Toots.
Telly has teamed up with Gabriel Rattiner, the Berkley trained guitarist, along with drummer David Berg, and managed to put on one hell of a show. By the end of the night, the group had the entire Talkhouse out on the dance floor.
But what’s the name of this new group? There is no official word, as they are still working on it, since they just got together only a week ago. However, the chalkboard at the Talkhouse was calling them Free Candy. Always nice to see a great local band hit the scene.
FYI the Toots And The Maytals are playing at the Talkhouse this weekend. You don’t want to miss this reggae group. I know, my blood pressure just dropped too. Enjoy the weekend.

Yes! The piano man is back! Actor Roy Scheider, (you know him from JAWS) just sold his house to Billy Joel for $18 million. According to Newsday, the deal is supposed to close on Tuesday and Joel can move into his new Sagaponack estate.
The five-bedroom, five-bath, four-fireplace home includes views of the ocean and will be a perfect spot for Billy Joel. He is also putting his Centre Island home on the market, and (I did not know this) owns a waterfront house in Sag Harbor.
As a tremendous Billy Joel fan, I couldn’t be happier about this. Having him around adds tons of positive energy to the area and perhaps we could get lucky at 9 o’clock on a Saturday, watching the regular crowd shuffle in, and see Billy Joel sitting next to an old man making love to his tonic and gin.

That’s definitely Fergie at The Whitehouse in Hampton Bays. The nightclub, like the rest of them, had a stunning Memorial Day weekend with crowds stretching out into the street. The phenomenal Black Eyed Peas performer had the people there going bananas. She hosted the club that night and sang along to some of her tunes, but in between jams, I’m pretty sure she gave a shout out to Taco Bell. Huh? Well it doesn’t matter, it was still one hell of a night. I heard that just about everywhere in the Hamptons was hopping last weekend. Glad to see it.
Is it just me, or are the clubs in the Hamptons this summer more popular and outrageous then ever before?

Nancy you make the Hamptons a better place to be.
It was one heck of a release party at the Stephen Talkhouse last night. The Hampton’s very own Nancy Atlas launched her new CD in front of well over 300 people. Everybody there was completely shoulder to shoulder.
I’m all about this rock star, Nancy Atlas seems to have a good grip on life and it’s channeled into her music. She is one of the many real artists out here that helps make this place what it is.
Last year we talked at Gurney’s Inn out in Montauk about a new guitar I had just bought. I promised her that I would practice and the next time she saw me I’d be able to jam out. Well, it’s been almost a year, and I can play three cords.
…I’m working on a fourth.

I’ve never been a concert junkie. Sweaty guys groping me, drunken girls singing in my ear, my white Manolo wedges getting trampled on…Yuck. But I hear there’s a concert series coming to the Hamptons that’s the antithesis of all that. And for $15,000 it better be!! Yes, you heard me, for a handful of cashola, “The Social” is offering a 5-part concert series with Prince, Aretha Franklin, Dave Matthews and more, benefiting the Ross School. There’s already some controversy in the papers (something about how the crème de la crème concerts are overshadowing other important Saturday night fundraisers). However, it came to MY attention because all the glossy PR firms are hard-core vying for the account. Rumor has it Full Picture, Desire Gruber’s PR firm, will run the show, which works out beautifully for me because I have a few peeps there! Bottom Line: Prince is performing on my 30th birthday (July 14th!), so I need to hear the music and feel the beat. One problem: I don’t have $15,000. But I do promise to rock out like I’m 15 years old?!

La Superica in Sag Harbor is one of my most favorite places to go to in the little village. The party scene there is awesome. It’s really laid back there with a vibe that says, “Hey man, everything is all good.”
The food at this Mexican restaurant/bar is classic Mexican, but the real time to go there is after ten o’clock when the bar crowd shows up. The bar area of La Superica is always filled with a combination of yachtsmen, socialites, locals and summer folk. It’s an amazing mix of people and only a handful of restaurant nightspots has the ability to attract such a diverse crowd yet still make everybody feel welcome. I recommend this place.
What’s great about this bar is that when they open in Sag Harbor, it is a real sign that the summer has started and that can never be a bad thing. Party goers can look out onto the street because of the windows that are spread out through the entire place and wave friends in. Every weekend, they manage to get a different live band to play which almost immediately draws a crowd.
What’s my favorite part about this place? Probably the fact that you can roam in between the bar at La Superica and Cigar Bar seamlessly. It makes it kind of fun to spend a night bar hopping between the two, and the Cigar and La Superica are so dramatically different that you really feel like you are in a different place.
You know the season has started when La Superica opens its doors. Welcome to the summer of 2008!

The Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett had a band last week called “Evolution” play live. The band is a “Journey” Tribute band and in front of a nearly packed Stephen Talkhouse, they belted out famous hits such “Don’t Stop Believing” and “Only The Young.”
Myself and a couple of friends from the paper headed down to see if these guys could pull off what so many of us have tried at a shameless karaoke night out at Almondito in East Hampton. The lead singer of the band, known as Hugo had a voice that matched original “Journey” lead singer Steve Perry pretty perfectly. The bassist also had this wild bass
Hugo of “Evolution”
guitar that had flashing lights running up and down the neck. Needless to say, we were all taking taxi cabs home that night. The Talkhouse usually has a good lineup of bands and “Evolution” is one of them.
It was a great scene, but it was hard not to notice the unusually large hole in the lead singers blue jeans. Was it intentional? I have no idea. Maybe it’s just one of those rock star secrets.

Aida Turturro the lovely actress from the HBO Original Series hit “The Sopranos” was out for St. Patty’s day weekend enjoying the parade and then headed down to Gurney’s Inn for an excellent cocktail party in honor of the Montauk Friends of Erin. Paul Monte, the CEO of the resort posed in a picture for us, so we just had to put it up here on the site!
