Our favorite superhero Sir Ivan just recently performed at the Metro NY Balloon & Music Festival this past Saturday. Sir Ivan is a busy guy with a busy schedule. He recently led The Salute to Israel Parade alongside Mayor Michael Bloomberg & Governor David Patterson to Celebrate Israel’s 60th and is known as Mr. Mitzvah on the hit show Who Wants to be a Superhero. Way to save the world, Mr. Mitzvah. Look forward to the new album.

“You Can’t Always Get What You Want” when you’re a Hell’s Angel in 1969. Our Montauk’s Memory Motel and Andy Warhol Estate hero, Mick Jagger, is the subject of a BBC radio documentary about a hit on his life that was avoided on Long Island thanks to storm. A former FBI agent told the BBC, “They were going to kill him in retribution for his firing their security forces.”
According to reports, everything was set to go and the Hell’s Angels hit men loaded up a boat with guns and set out on the Long Island Sound back in 1969. Unfortunately for them however, a storm cap sized thier boat, leaving the men to dodge death themselves. What a different world we’d all be in if that storm didn’t come in. Was it “Sympathy for the Devil” who knows? We’re just glad it’s “All Over Now”
It’s gorgeous in Bridgehampton right now, enjoy the wet weekend!

The Hamptons’ favorite rum loving rock star showed up to do a song with James Taylor at his headline concert at the Ross School on Saturday.
Jimmy Buffett came out onstage for a surprise encore at the end of the concert. James and Jimmy sang the song “Mexico” to the crowd, which included celeb guest Paul McCartney and The Olsen Twins.

Here is a nice little montage we made of the Billy Joel concert at the Ross School in East Hampton last Saturday. I have to say, with David Blaine showing Kelly Rippa a magic trick, Billy Joel sounding awesome and the food and drink galore. This concert really took the cake. As one guy put it, “It was more then amazing.”

Usher cancelled his Hamptons wedding at the 11th hour and no one knows why! Everything was all set at L.A. Reid’s Sagaponack home when things hit the fan between Usher and his bride-to-be Tameka Foster. Was it her secret past? Their pre-marital pregnancy? The disapproval of Usher’s family? Or even something more unspeakable? Stay tuned as the town gossips get the scoop…

In the meantime, Super Saturday attracted all the attractive people like Kelly Ripa, Christy Turlington and Mandy Moore. The fastest selling item appears to be Kooba’s “MEREDITH” bag - presumably named after Meredith Grey? Or (doubtfully) Meredith Viera? Most Kooba’s emulate the names/styles of various starlets. Pretty sure I have one named Scarlett, or maybe it’s Elisha? Either way - I adore it. Other “steals” included Vera Wang gowns for $150 and Jill Stuart slip dresses marked down to 80% off. Incidentally, I got nada — just a sunburn and gelato sample.

The Ross School once again did the ultimate Hamptons concert thanks to Lizzie Grubman and her PR posse. The Dave Matthews concert had a slew of celebrities attending the show including American illusionist and stunt performer, David Blaine along with Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider, Chris Noth from “Sex and the City” and “Law and Order” and the “Soprano’s” Edie Falco and Aida Turturro made it quite the concert for celebrity lovers.
In honor of Dave’s Southern roots, Social brought in New York City chef Adam Perry Lang of Daisy Mae’s BBQ to give the guests a taste of Southern comfort. There was also a fajita station, a caffeine bar (i.e.: Nespresso) on our right and a Dylan’s Candy Bar for our sweet tooth.
What planet are we on again?

I like to say I’m a hermit. In reality, there are occasional weekends where I’ll go to the opening of an envelope. This, I’m afraid, is one of those weekends.
Tonight there is a screening of “The 11th hour,” hosted by Project Greenhouse & TAR ART. The invite says “cocktails and film under the stars.” I mean, does life get any better? This is where the artsy, I-don’t-do-Dune, scene will be tonight.
Tomorrow, one of my closest girlfriends, Lisette Sand-Freedman, is having a fashion show for Inca at The Estate in Sag Harbor. Topher Grace is going….grrrr. It’s at 9pm. I might go just for the gift bag.
More importantly, Mr. Mitzvah is having his annual superhero shindig. I’m not going to pretend I actually understand what this dude is all about, but I hear it could be the ultimate party of the summer.
The problem is, you need to dress up like some cartoon character. What should I be….”Super Boyfriend Stealer?” or “Wasted Wonder Woman?”
I’m also told that it’s the kind of night where anything goes, and you do NOT want to be the designated driver.
Of course there is also Polo, a Leblon clambake, the sickest Soul Cycle and Zonehampton classes of the week, and a massive sale at Calypso.
After all this, I’m going back under my rock. With a Bloody Mary!

Just as I expected, Prince made me feel like a princess on my birthday.
His concert at The Ross School was a sensational experience, from Kid Rock (my crush!) to caviar-tarts (diet starts today!) to a rock-star performance by…The Artist Currently Known As The Best Night of the Summer.
Let’s start with the food. This was not your ordinary BBQ. Unless you have Japanese sushi masters and Parisian chocolatiers hanging in your ‘hood. Tuna tempura, truffle dumplings, hazelnut gelato….Not to mention copious cocktails at a beautiful bar with cute waiters and zero line.
People fluttered around double-kissing with David Lauren and Steven Bing, talking about St. Tropez and Tutto Il Giorno, dabbling in candy from Dylan’s Candy Bar and doing the “I never go out anymore!” thing.
In the meantime, the only people consuming as many calories as me were… The Sopranos.
Aida Turturo and Edie Falco had a big table of cast-members and beach friends. They were seriously indulging. The one detail distracting them from their grub and gossip was Leonardo DiCaprio, whose new girlfriend is actually hotter than his ex, Giselle.
But besides a few of the jaded folks, the pre-concert energy was unlike anything I’ve seen this summer. It was so electric that it almost overshadowed the actual music, which was inevitably… magical.
Prince is a legend, and to see him sing, dance and shake his thing is a privilege everyone should experience once in their lifetime.
My only issue was the crowd was a little conservative. I wanted to scream, dance, go topless and make memories, and the audience seemed a little sidetracked by…themselves.
Either way, it was an insane event - and for a very cool cause, no less.
(While ticket sales don’t go to The Ross School directly, the organizers of the show, Social, will make an impressive donation to its scholarship program.)
It was a glorious night, with a perfect sunset…..and just enough Purple Rain.
