Alec Baldwin, and Jann Wenner are among the big name people who are making efforts to keep National Public Radio alive and well in Southampton at WLIU radio. The station, which is being sold, has many prominent names in the area concerned.
In fact, a charity fund has been set up that you can donate to to keep the radio station alive.
The amount of public support has been large, but it may not be large enough, and there is talk that the top bidder for the radio station may not be the best bidder. People are fearing that the top bidder could be a group that wants the station shut down for its liberal viewpoints and shows.
The Associated Press has reported that Porter Bibb, an investment banker that specializes in media and is working as a volunteer advisor to save the station said, “A well-financed religious broadcaster with reputations for buying out financially strapped public radio stations may swamp other bidders, because the religious stations simulcast the same programming on hundreds of stations, they could keep their overhead low.”
A lot of people care about this radio station and I love getting my dish of Bonnie Grice in the morning, so click on the charity link and send some money!

Yes.
There is not a single guy that grew up with Avril Lavinge music that isn’t excited about this news. We were so sad when she got married, but the super hot Lavinge was out and about in “the Hamptons” last week and even the Associated Press has picked up on the story that Lavigne may be splitting up with husband Deryck Whibley (lucky) she was seen alone (omg) partying in the Hamptons. I guess it’s just not me that didn’t get addicted to her punk hotness.
BUT WHERE WAS SHE PARTYING ASSOCIATED PRESS!? WHERE??!?! That’s the trouble with the AP, they give you just enough to make you nuts.

Betty Buckley the Tony Award Winning Broadway star who decided to spread some of her knowledge to Broadway bound hopefuls at a “boot camp” for singing, acting and dancing in Sag Harbor will finish up her wonderful work today, much to the sadness of many of her students. The camp was described as a way for actors and professionals, young and old, to get a refresher course and tune back into the craft and it was a great success for Bay Street Theater who sponsored the event.
We love Betty! Dang this woman can sing.

He recently led The Salute to Israel Parade alongside Mayor Michael Bloomberg & Governor David Patterson to Celebrate Israel’s 60th and is known as Mr. Mitzvah on the hit show Who Wants to be a Superhero. Way to save the world, Mr. Mitzvah. Look forward to the new album.

“You Can’t Always Get What You Want” when you’re a Hell’s Angel in 1969. Our Montauk’s Memory Motel and Andy Warhol Estate hero, Mick Jagger, is the subject of a BBC radio documentary about a hit on his life that was avoided on Long Island thanks to storm. A former FBI agent told the BBC, “They were going to kill him in retribution for his firing their security forces.”
According to reports, everything was set to go and the Hell’s Angels hit men loaded up a boat with guns and set out on the Long Island Sound back in 1969. Unfortunately for them however, a storm cap sized thier boat, leaving the men to dodge death themselves. What a different world we’d all be in if that storm didn’t come in. Was it “Sympathy for the Devil” who knows? We’re just glad it’s “All Over Now”
It’s gorgeous in Bridgehampton right now, enjoy the wet weekend!

Here is a nice little montage we made of the Billy Joel concert at the Ross School in East Hampton last Saturday. I have to say, with David Blaine showing Kelly Rippa a magic trick, Billy Joel sounding awesome and the food and drink galore. This concert really took the cake. As one guy put it, “It was more then amazing.”
