You are not going to believe this one. I’m not sure if we here believe it. You all remember the I Know Eddie Ecker bumper stickers of East Hampton right? The story was that the Wainscott Police Captain knows so many people that a lot of drivers would try to get out of tickets by saying “I know Eddie Ecker”
Well, some freinds of his in East Hampton made a goof by printing a bunch of bumper stickers that say “I Know Eddie Ecker” which were all the rage last year.
Okay, so now you have the background. Check out this e-mail that we just recieved. You will fall on the floor. Looks like even the Chinese are using Eddie’s name to get out of a ticket!
Hi Hamptons,
This photo was taken by me on a recent trip to China. I noticed the bumper sticker and had to wonder, “Who is Eddie Ecker?” So, I snapped the shot and just remembered to get on the internet and solve the mystery. So, to Eddie Ecker: the rickshaw drivers in the Beijing houtongs know the secret to road violation leniency! Best to you all.

Our very own MTV producer Gina Glickman, who also is a new reporter for News 12 as well as a Dan’s Papers columnist just finished producing a national television show for MTV entitled “Domenico’s Passport to Love”
Looks quite entertaining indeed. Thanks Gina for sending this along to us and letting us know! The show looks hysterical.
Hello All,
I hope you are doing fantastico!
I have been stuck in an edit for weeks, but finally finished producing an MTV Special I am quite proud of, entitled, “Domenico’s Passport to Love”, to air this Sunday on MTV @10pm. Starring a star on the rise, Domenico Nesci! Note the very talented band, The Cringe created all the packaging music, it sounds awesome! So, please DVR/Tivo/Deja Vu or just tune in after the Oscars:)
Let me know what you think!
Ciao!
-Gina

I don’t really get it, but I like it. Here is a video that was sent to us. It’s a video of driving through the Hamptons back roads, but sped up.

East Hampton officials have denied the Seafair Yacht, an awesomely sized yacht pictured here that sells desireable art around the world. The reason they denied was because they were concerned about parking issues and about the yachts ability to navigate Three Mile Harbor. There was also that tiny issue of using the commercial dock, which would undoubtedly tick off the fisherman.
Seafair made this same request last year and got denied by East Hampton. This year however, they are not messing around and applied to Sag Harbor as well. Sag Harbor, known for it’s yachts, happily invited the Seafair to stay at the main dock in the village. Good for Sag! We love this always rising star in the Hamptons real estate empire.
Now if only I could come up with a few hundred million for a Monet!

Tom Swinimer, the delivery manager here, and myself wanted to go out for a beer and some food in Bridgehampton yesterday after work. We decided to check out World Pie and say hello to Dennis, but were stopped short when we saw this…
There was a note on the door, so we thought we’d see just what the heck was going on….
“Bobby Van’s?” Tom said…
But that was closed too, and so we checked around the corner and found Alison’s, but that was closed too! We headed to the West further to Water Mill to check out Muse, but that was closed for Tuesday night eating as well. But of course, good sushi and saki saved us.
It was so packed that even owner Toyo Kamatani was behind the bar taking orders. “Where the saki flows like wine. Where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano.”
It was a good Tuesday night find, but to be honest, I’m just happy we didn’t end up having to drive to the City.

Nothing beats local theatre in the Hamptons and some of the best comes from the The Hampton Theatre Company in Quogue. On January 10 the Hampton Theatre Company will kick off the new year with David Mamet’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, “Glengarry Glen Ross.” The comedy is about the ridiculous competition between real estate salesmen.
You can check out these local characters at Quogue Community Hall on Jessup Avenue. These days real estate people could use a good laugh and David Mamet has the medicine.
