We had a feeling that we were gonna read about this sooner or later. You remember those Ross School Concerts last summer that were so unbelievably ridiculously awesome? Remember all the celebs that attended and all of the food and all of the hype which had Prince, Dave Matthews, Billy Joel, Tom Petty and James Taylor rocking out for the well to do? Well guess what? Not too many people shelled out the $15,000 bucks! The well connected Hamptonites worked their magic to get free tickets and celebs weren’t paying for tickets either. What did they think was gonna happen?
The Post has reported that the Ross School concerts last year lost $18 million bucks. The Warner Music Group, owned by Joe Meli, were responsible for the concerts.
They may have lost money on the concerts, but hey, they made one Billy Joel fan very happy. And if you are gonna lose $18 million, might as well party your !@#%!#% butt off!

Tricky, tricky, tricky. We can’t figure out if Howard Stern is gonna get married in the Hamptons or if he is gonna do it in Manhattan. Now we’re guessing it’s all just lies and he is gonna get married in Jersey. Anyway, the man who turned talking dirty on the radio into millions of dollars is marrying Beth Ostrowsky. Howard and Beth are like peas and carrots. Well we really should say that they are like tuna tar tar and lobster bisque.
According to mediabistro.com
The so-called King of All Media, Howard Stern, whose Sirius satellite radio program revels in all things libertine, is planning on a low-key Hamptons wedding. Stern, who has been engaged for a year with model Beth Ostrowsky, has said in the past that he admired…

Dan’s Papers isn’t the only paper that likes to make up stories. The rumor that Tiger Woods is moving to Southampton is not true, but even Dan here has to agree that it made for one heck of a story. For about one day, much of the country got word that Tiger Woods bought a $65 million estate thanks to a blurb about it in the New York Post. Our office here was getting calls from Connecticut radio stations to confirm, and most of us here just said huh?
Turns out that the blurb was a mistake, reps from Tiger Woods made a public statement that Tiger is not buying the home and they have no idea where the information in the Post came from.
In other news about celebrities who own homes in the Hamptons that are turning out false, P. Diddy made headlines today about an L.A. Times article portraying him being involved with the murder of Tu-pac.
CNN.com reported:
Sean “Diddy” Combs has denied a report by the Los Angeles Times that his associates were responsible for the 1994 robbery and shooting of Tupac Shakur at a New York recording studio, and that he knew about the attack in advance. “The story is a lie,” the hip-hop mogul said in a statement Monday. “It is beyond ridiculous and completely false.
Hey! Dan’s Papers is suppossed to be the news outlet that delivers the occasional whopper, get out of our rice bowl!
By the way, the Hampton Subway construction is going really well

Every single media tabloid in the world has gone bananas over Amagansett’s Paul McCartney’s recent date in East Hampton with Linda Shevell. The man is certainly living a tabloid nightmare. Leave the Macca alone for Pete’s sake, he is a $@#$%@# Beatle for crying out loud!

The Hamptons man, Kelsey Grammer, who is a noted Hamptons celebrity for owning a large house in Sagaponack and a frequenter of parties and the Bridgehampton Starbucks, has put up his home on the market after just having it for three years for 16.1 million. Sources tell us that he has at the most spent a total of two months of actual staying at the home during the summer months since it was built in 2005. He purchased the house new in 2005 with wife, Camille, for $8.5 million and it was built by the Farrel Building Company (also known for building Giuliani’s house). No word on why he’s selling it, but it certainly can’t be because he’s tired of it.

Here are our danshamptons.com idiots of the week.
If you want to steal art in the Hamptons, burning down a house and then trying to resell the stolen art to the dealer that appraised the insurance payout is not a good idea. Eleven paintings in all, worth more than $500,000 total, were taken from the home of Jerry Levin, former CEO of the Coleman camping equipment company who has a summer home in Quogue by Patrick Padden, his 50 year old care taker and three other men.
His caretaker, along with three other men, (Ronald Jiminez, Vincent Scheraldi, Brian Marbach) stole 30 paintings, one of the most expensive painting was a work by French cubist painter Jean Metzinger that was valued at $420,000. They then burned down the house to cover their tracks. When they tried to sell the paintings, they went to the exact same art dealer that not only originally sold the painting to Jerry Levin, but also appraised it for him after the fire so he could submit it to his insurance company. He blew the whistle, and now they are in the big house (jail of course).
What a bunch of idiots.

They can’t be everywhere at once, which is why the jet set this weekend are going to have to choose between heading out to see Billy Joel at the Ross School, where two tickets cost $6,000, or go have dinner with Hillary and Bill Clinton at Ron Perlman’s house for $9,200.
The camp at Hillary and at Ross have both expressed concerns that one function will be taking away from the other, but getting out money from Hamptons pockets is never easy. You could always listen to Billy Joel on your i-Pod while having dinner with Bill, that might work. However, $9,200 is a little steep for dinner, $6,000 sounds like a bargain to go to a concert.
Saturday isn’t the only Hillary opportunity in the Hamptons to show some Hillary love. According to Bloomberg.com “Tonight she’ll be a guest of Irene and Bernard Schwartz, the former chairman of Loral Space & Communications Inc., who are hosting a $1,000-a-head cocktail party in Southampton. (Amazingly, the senator has a quick daytrip to Chicago on Saturday for two public events, before the Perelman dinner.)”
Flying on to Chicago on Saturday and coming back for dinner in the Hamptons is pretty pimp.
Can’t squeeze in Billy and Hillary into one day? You can catch Hillary Sunday morning in East Hampton then. Venture capitalist Alan Patricof is having a $1,000 pancake breakfast for Clinton. If you shell out 10 Gs, she’ll pose in a photo for you.
Bye the way, if you are a complete slob, with no money to your name, you can always go to that super inexpensive place Nobu to enjoy an all-inclusive $250 Nobu dinner, prepared by Nobu staff at the Ross School on the 17th and 18th with Clinton. Here’s the number for a reservation 212-757-3000.
Only in the Hamptons.

Project Greenhouse, the infamous, super eco-freindly home in East Hampton that has been recently built to prove that luxury living and being good to the environment can co-exist, along with HBO’s Entourage Star Adrian Grenier hosted the “Closing Reception” for Project GreenHouse Hamptons by having a poker game at the home to benefit Charity Water, which drills wells in Africa.
Have you been watching this season of Entourage? It is fantastic!

Now that’s how you launch a clothing line. DonFashions, a new clothing line created by Montauk local and barely 18-years-old P.J. Monte, displayed his fashionable threads along with Southampton swimsuit designer Lu Berry on an outdoor runway at the private beach at Gurney’s Inn. DonFashions, which offers youthful designer clothing with an Italian-mobster twist, attracted the likes of Hampton clothing retailers and photographers. The event, sponsored by Hamptons Vodka and Hamptons Style Magazine among others, had a crowd of well over two hundred people giving a standing ovation for the two designers.
After the launch, Gurney’s redecorated its stunning conference room into a nightclub complete with models, fashionistas and plenty of alcohol. As PJ’s shirts would say, “I am the Don…Bitch”
