The Stella Adler Studio of Acting is hosting a fundraiser for The Roy Scheider Scholarship Endowment Fund at the home of John Randolph Hearst, Jr. in Watermill on August 23rd. And you have got to go.
The late Roy Scheider was a respected member of the acting community and a former board member of the Stella Adler Studio. The Roy Scheider Scholarship Endowment Fund has been established to enable low-income, inner-city youth to study acting for four years on a full scholarship at the Studio.
Ellen Adler, Brenda Siemer Scheider and John Randolph Hearst, Jr. are hosting the benefit and we are expecting notable people from the theatre and arts community. In past years, guests have included: Joe Pintauro, Holland Taylor, Sidney Lumet, Joanna Gleason, Mercedes Ruehl, Eli Wallach and Frank Langella.
If you want to go, check out this linke Website: www.stellaadler.com or call Nina Capelli Phone: 212-689-0087, ext. 27 or you can email: Nina@stellaadler.com

Project Greenhouse, the infamous, super eco-freindly home in East Hampton that has been recently built to prove that luxury living and being good to the environment can co-exist, along with HBO’s Entourage Star Adrian Grenier hosted the “Closing Reception” for Project GreenHouse Hamptons by having a poker game at the home to benefit Charity Water, which drills wells in Africa.
Have you been watching this season of Entourage? It is fantastic!

Usher cancelled his Hamptons wedding at the 11th hour and no one knows why! Everything was all set at L.A. Reid’s Sagaponack home when things hit the fan between Usher and his bride-to-be Tameka Foster. Was it her secret past? Their pre-marital pregnancy? The disapproval of Usher’s family? Or even something more unspeakable? Stay tuned as the town gossips get the scoop…

In the meantime, Super Saturday attracted all the attractive people like Kelly Ripa, Christy Turlington and Mandy Moore. The fastest selling item appears to be Kooba’s “MEREDITH” bag - presumably named after Meredith Grey? Or (doubtfully) Meredith Viera? Most Kooba’s emulate the names/styles of various starlets. Pretty sure I have one named Scarlett, or maybe it’s Elisha? Either way - I adore it. Other “steals” included Vera Wang gowns for $150 and Jill Stuart slip dresses marked down to 80% off. Incidentally, I got nada — just a sunburn and gelato sample.

Soulcycle (264 Butter Lane) is hosting a very exciting ride, just hours before Super Saturday kicks off. It’s at 11:30am, $100/class, and ALL PROCEEDS GO TO OVARIAN CANCER RESEARCH.
Sure, the thought of spinning mid-day, mid-hangover and just before hours of hardcore shopping is not the most enticing idea in the world. However, here are 5 reasons I think everyone should go. Everyone! That. Means. You.
1. Ruth is teaching. Ruth rules. Her fans include Kyra Sedgwick, Katie Couric, Carey Lowell and (I hear) the newly spin-converted Alec Baldwin. There is a good chance one of them will be there. Spinning with the stars is very inspiring – trust me.
2. You’ll feel less guilty spending 500 bucks on new bag if you do something charitable just an hour before.
3. Endorphins ALWAYS do a body good.
4. We’re going to scream on the top of our lungs and dance out of our bike seats!
5. Disgustingly superficial reasons…tax write-offs, calorie-burning and kissing-up to the most powerful peeps out East.
I could go on and on. But I need to buy a sports bra.

After the party for the Humane Society of America at Grey Gardens in East Hampton last Sunday, my editor, David Lion, was left in complete shell shock. It wasn’t until Tuesday that he realized he had been conversing with President Bush’s niece Ashley Bush at the party. Of course the focus of the evening was on the important issue at hand, animals. I’m sure it was refreshing to know that so many important people care about such an important cause. However, after David’s Bush revelation, I couldn’t help but think that the Bush girls were an awful way from home and could be anywhere else in the world. Just goes to show the powerful draw of the Hamptons across the country, and even the world. Who wouldn’t want to be here?

Just as I expected, Prince made me feel like a princess on my birthday.
His concert at The Ross School was a sensational experience, from Kid Rock (my crush!) to caviar-tarts (diet starts today!) to a rock-star performance by…The Artist Currently Known As The Best Night of the Summer.
Let’s start with the food. This was not your ordinary BBQ. Unless you have Japanese sushi masters and Parisian chocolatiers hanging in your ‘hood. Tuna tempura, truffle dumplings, hazelnut gelato….Not to mention copious cocktails at a beautiful bar with cute waiters and zero line.
People fluttered around double-kissing with David Lauren and Steven Bing, talking about St. Tropez and Tutto Il Giorno, dabbling in candy from Dylan’s Candy Bar and doing the “I never go out anymore!” thing.
In the meantime, the only people consuming as many calories as me were… The Sopranos.
Aida Turturo and Edie Falco had a big table of cast-members and beach friends. They were seriously indulging. The one detail distracting them from their grub and gossip was Leonardo DiCaprio, whose new girlfriend is actually hotter than his ex, Giselle.
But besides a few of the jaded folks, the pre-concert energy was unlike anything I’ve seen this summer. It was so electric that it almost overshadowed the actual music, which was inevitably… magical.
Prince is a legend, and to see him sing, dance and shake his thing is a privilege everyone should experience once in their lifetime.
My only issue was the crowd was a little conservative. I wanted to scream, dance, go topless and make memories, and the audience seemed a little sidetracked by…themselves.
Either way, it was an insane event - and for a very cool cause, no less.
(While ticket sales don’t go to The Ross School directly, the organizers of the show, Social, will make an impressive donation to its scholarship program.)
It was a glorious night, with a perfect sunset…..and just enough Purple Rain.

Aida Turturro the lovely actress from the HBO Original Series hit “The Sopranos” was out for St. Patty’s day weekend enjoying the parade and then headed down to Gurney’s Inn for an excellent cocktail party in honor of the Montauk Friends of Erin. Paul Monte, the CEO of the resort posed in a picture for us, so we just had to put it up here on the site!
