John Flanagan is selling the Southampton Tavern, the spot that housed Stereo by The Shore last summer, after 18 years of being in business. The building has consistently drawn packed nights in the summer time, and the price for the club is set at $4.9 million. According to The Post, he has already gotten offers on the place.
The building is so well known as a night club that you could open up a club and call it “don’t come here” and people would still pack it during the summer. Should be a quick transaction in Southampton according to people closely watching the deal.

Attention party crashers: Page Six has reported the most exclusive parties to attend this Fourth of July celebratory weekend. Just don’t be offended if you walk away with a handful of condoms, instead of some new friends. You’ll understand after a second…
“Artist Ross Bleckner will throw the ACRIA bash he’s hosting along with Martha Nelson, André Balazs, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Bob Colacello, Beth Rudin DeWoody, Gillian Hearst-Shaw and Alex von Furstenberg at his Sagaponack home. Bleckner has a surprise for guests - instead of wristbands, revelers will get Magnum condoms as their tickets into the party. Donors who gave $1,000 or more will get two condoms and a signed print by artist Robert Longo.”
OR you could always sneak into Shabbot Services in Westhampon! Good husband-hunting at both spots, if that’s your thing!

As if the Hamptons wasn’t happening enough, two things launched this weekend, affording us an even more amazing summer.
As Thrillist.com points out, busy people like us can now take non-chartered helicopters from the city to the beach, for a simple fee of $799. Fine, that’s more than I’ve ever spent on anything, but time is money, right? The ride is only 35 minutes, and … there’s no 495 traffic, dirty men honking horns, or regretful McDonalds stops.
However, if you like to have fun for a lot less cashola, I hear Sole East has officially opened its doors. The website is super sexy, and I hear the spot is “a less pretentious version of Sunset Beach.” Everyone knows the coolest people out East are hiding-out in Montauk, and Sole East is probably where they’ll surface.

I was out at Stereo by The Shore in Southampton last Saturday night and as usual Sean Gallager made everything was good as usual. The DJ spun an amazing mix of rock and hip-hop and classic beats that made the crowd want to get up and dance. Star Jones and her boyfriend were there celebrating his birthday with the help of beautiful bottle girl Cynthia LaForte, the star of the VIP section and up and coming actress. I happened to get a couple of drinks with the Playboy Bunnies that were there who were imported from Las Angeles and Athens. We then headed down to Dune and then to Star Room where we were rubbing elbows with Kevin Connelly.
It was one heck of a Hamptons evening.

We’re not sure if it’s a good thing, or a bad thing, but Sen Lounge in Sag Harbor has been labeled “The Bungalow 8 of The Hamptons.” Considering I hate to go clubbing, but love a good night at “B8,” this comparison immediately perked my attention. From my few experiences at Sen Lounge (and from what I can remember), the crowd is definitely as attractive as the B8 crew. Less models, more all-American beauties. Equal amount of toxic bachelors. Way less of a bathroom line. The Tokyo Cocktail, shown above, made with Japenese vodka and fresh grapefruit juice, is one of the more popular drinks on the innovative beverage list. It’s not particularly delicious, but the whole chemistry-chic thing is very cool. Plus, when you’re at the Bungalow 8 of the Hamptons, it’s not how you taste, it’s how you look.

Can a lazy New Yorker transition into a Hampton-er? We’ll see… Maybe now that I have a license. And an internship at Hampton Style - a magazine that requires a decent idea of what’s cool out East.
Pink Elephant, TenJune, Stereo by the Beach…. These are not words in my summer vocabulary. (I believe two of these names may actually even be the same club?).
I have spent my summers in Quogue since I could utter the word “taxi” (seriously, this, as I learned from my mother a few years back, was actually one of my first words spoken as a youngin!).
However, my version of “Summer in the Hamptons” is not quite the same as what most people expect. I mean, the word “Hampton” is nowhere to be found in the name Quogue, so I guess I have somewhat of an excuse.
I am from New York City, a city where nightlife is just a finger-in-the-air, swiping of the metro card, or strolling distance away. It’s been 3 years since I’ve been eligible for a license, but why bother! Manhattan is a perfect and easy location to live in without your own form of transportation.
However, today marked the first day I drove alone in my car. Legal ‘n all. Now I can get around New York, and with the wonders of technology, GPS navigation, I can get around the Hamptons just by the click of a button.
Then again, my boss scolded me today to sit down “for only 20 minutes to look at a map…” A WHOLE 20 MINUTES!? The thought of translating pictures and lines on a piece of paper into the reality of the road scares me.
Anyways, back to my point (rather my stream of consciousness), I have yet to really explore The Hamptons. One thing is for sure, Quogue is no where near anything.
Additionally, it is hard for me to be motivated to attend these so-hot-right-now clubs, when there is so much effort that goes into the final result: getting in.
First, I am not of age, secondly, I refuse to buy a table. Thirdly, well that’s all I have right now. But, no longer able to use the excuse, “I don’t have my license!,” am I ready to venture out of Quogue and into the Hamptons? Two words: Baby steps.

My one complaint about living here full time in the summer? Tuesday nights. Restaurants are closed, bars are bare, movies are old, even the reruns are random. So I thought I’d make it my mission to figure out the best place to go when it’s Tuesday out East and I’m feeling abandoned. Unfortunately, my field reporting hasn’t led me to Shangri-la (yet), though I did come up with a few midweek conclusions.
If it’s a Tuesday night, and you’re solo (by choice, of course!), here’s an idea of what’s out there:
Trata: Best place to go home with a bartender
Sen: Best place to eat, drink and pretend to be busy on your blackberry
The Corner Bar: Best place to drink tequila and compare tattoos
The American Hotel: Best place to feel younger than everyone
Cyril’s: Best place to get drunk as a skunk with surfers
Bobby Van’s: Best place to find a husband (who may secretly have a wife)
Suki Zuki: Overall best place to make new friends and score a decent date

Tonight is the unofficial opening of Flirt in East Hampton. Even though there’s lots of buzz around this new hotspot, I’d rather attend the opening of Flirt, in my bedroom, on North Sea Road (note: much more exclusive).
The owners of The Bermuda Estate say they’re keeping it mellow this weekend with a few friendly birthday parties, and a lot of tennis-playing on the premises. In other words, no one good is coming to town.
Saturday night, Tinsley Mortimer is hosting a soirree at Stereo by the Shore. All her pretty peeps will be there. Club opens at 11. Table Reservations start at $500-$2000. General Admission 30 dollars. Criteria to get in: No flip flops, no hats, no shorts.
I asked the rep what he’d do if Leonardo DiCaprio showed up in shorts and a baseball hat…
“Oh Alyssa, come on now.”
Um, is that a yes?

That’s definitely Fergie at The Whitehouse in Hampton Bays. The nightclub, like the rest of them, had a stunning Memorial Day weekend with crowds stretching out into the street. The phenomenal Black Eyed Peas performer had the people there going bananas. She hosted the club that night and sang along to some of her tunes, but in between jams, I’m pretty sure she gave a shout out to Taco Bell. Huh? Well it doesn’t matter, it was still one hell of a night. I heard that just about everywhere in the Hamptons was hopping last weekend. Glad to see it.
Is it just me, or are the clubs in the Hamptons this summer more popular and outrageous then ever before?

I was thinking about DLR’s clubbing news below. It’s a brilliant idea. I don’t know why more club owners don’t cash-in on tipsy fashionistas looking for a quick fix. I mean, there’s nothing like a shopping high! I’d totally buy a pair of shoes late night, especially after Britney Spears ruined the whole “barefoot” allure. However, I’d be really mad at myself (and Todd Shapiro) if I came home with like, pink jelly shoes, or worse, Steve Madden knock-offs. Call me a snob, but if I’m in the mood to drink, dance, strip my shoes off and spend my hard-earned money, I better wake up to some Jimmy Choo ballet flats. I mean, no one wants to open their eyes and see something mediocre. Trust me :).
