Dan’s Papers isn’t the only paper that likes to make up stories. The rumor that Tiger Woods is moving to Southampton is not true, but even Dan here has to agree that it made for one heck of a story. For about one day, much of the country got word that Tiger Woods bought a $65 million estate thanks to a blurb about it in the New York Post. Our office here was getting calls from Connecticut radio stations to confirm, and most of us here just said huh?
Turns out that the blurb was a mistake, reps from Tiger Woods made a public statement that Tiger is not buying the home and they have no idea where the information in the Post came from.
In other news about celebrities who own homes in the Hamptons that are turning out false, P. Diddy made headlines today about an L.A. Times article portraying him being involved with the murder of Tu-pac.
CNN.com reported:
Sean “Diddy” Combs has denied a report by the Los Angeles Times that his associates were responsible for the 1994 robbery and shooting of Tupac Shakur at a New York recording studio, and that he knew about the attack in advance. “The story is a lie,” the hip-hop mogul said in a statement Monday. “It is beyond ridiculous and completely false.
Hey! Dan’s Papers is suppossed to be the news outlet that delivers the occasional whopper, get out of our rice bowl!
By the way, the Hampton Subway construction is going really well

Why is Sarah Jessica Parker so likeable and such a hard working Hollywood actress? None of us here can tell, but we all just love her. We just heard today that East Hamptoite Sarah Jessica Parker is heading back to Broadway even after all of the work she has put into the new Sex And The City Movie! Sarah is going to be Italian flight attendant in the show Boeing Boeing, starting up in April at NYC’s Longacre Theater.
What is the secret to her figure? None of us know, but we’re sure it has something to do with the beaches of Amagansett.

Hamptonite Martha Stewart made quite a move, her company just last Tuesday bought all of the rights to Emeril Lagasse’s seemingly endless franchise of cooking related products from him for $45 million in cash and $5 million in stock.
The loveable chef still gets to keep his restaurants however. Who would have thought good old Emeril had it in him? Not such a bad transaction for the “BAM!” man.

Oh no they did not just do this to us. For those of you addicted to the crack that is reality television, Bravo has a new pill for you, “The Real Housewives of New York City.” The new series set to debut in March will feature an elite and powerful set of New York moms as they juggle their careers, family life, charity fund-raising galas and you guessed it, the social whirl of the Hamptons.
OH THE DRAMA OF IT ALL.
The show is a spin off of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” which has captivated the nation and young men who love Milf’s. You should expect nothing less from the New York City version and perhaps a few summer flings with a Manny might be added in just for kicks. The “real” women who are in the show are all New York power players who grace the Hamptons with their presence from time to time. The cast of babes consists of Bethenny Frankel, a single socialite in her 30s (SWEET!), who is an excellent chef (DOUBLE SWEET) and has a Wall Street boyfriend (NOOOOO!). Then of course there is Jill Zarin the entrepreneur married to another one. LuAnn de Lesseps the sexy traveler who speaks French and Ramona Singer, the RMS Fashions Goddess. Finally there is Alex McCord, the up and coming socialite who wants her kids to speak French so only lets her Nanny talk to them in French.
All fascinating stuff.
WE SMELL AN EMMY!

Billy Joel is continuing to move on up in Sagaponack. We just found out that he has spent $11.6 million buying the house next door to his $16.75 million house in Sagaponack that he just bought off of Roy Schieder last year. Looks like him and Katie Lee have a lot to be happy about. This year, his concerts have been more in demand and he also just debuted his new song, “Christmas in Fallujah,” at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates outside of Chicago. The song was inspired by letters he received from soldiers in Iraq and has been a hot topic since he chose to have Cass Dillon sing the song, who is an up and coming star. His new 16.75 million dollar place is a three bedroom and two bathroom with one hell of a view.

John Lennon’s personal assistant May Pang has written a book with never before seen pictures of the two called ‘Instamatic Karma’. She also said in a media statement that the singer was planning to buy a house for them in Montauk. Lennon dated his assistant Pang in 1973, when the star had temporarily separated from Yoko Ono who according to her encouraged the affair. It looks quite interesting, but is this really an appropriate book?

Jerry Seinfeld wants you to go see his movie, Bee: Movie. One reason you should go see it is because we just heard that the idea of the movie came from a dinner at Steven Spielberg’s house in East Hampton while Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker was there. Everybody is buzzing about it and we heard that that the movie was as sweet as honey! Ahahhahahahah! Okay, that was a lame joke.

Not only does Jon Stewart support peace in Sag Harbor by sporting a peace sign magnet, he also is yet again making headlines because of what he is doing for his writers during the writers strike that has been cast on Hollywood and New York City.
Stewart has delcared that he is going to pay writers out of his own pocket for his hit television show on Comedy Central “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart” for the next two weeks. Now that is one stand up guy who pays respect when respect is due. Lucky Sag Harbor with all their yachts and Jon Stewart.
