Since the beginning of time, human beings have searched for answers to the big questions.
Where did we come from?
Is there life after death?
Are we alone in this universe?
But today, in this very book, you will be asked to answer the ultimate question…
“Can I start you off with something to drink today?”
From the author that brought you absolutely nothing before this, comes the story of one waiter’s trials and tribulations. Experience the intensity, the magic, the raw emotion. And that’s only in the prologue.
Based on seven years of experience waiting tables, What I Do follows a waiter through the course of his day at a nice restaurant on eastern Long Island.

“How The Other Half Of The Hamptons Misses The Boat” a new book that is out describes what life is like for three 20-something girls (sweet) who decide to get a share house in the Hamptons (super-sweet) and all of the trouble they get into with the other people in the house (NICE). The book is by Jasmin Rosemberg, pictured above.
I got to say, I’d pretty much read anything this hot girl writes. I wonder if she’s Jewish? I can’t tell by her last name.
We highly reccomend it just by the tagline. “One house. Forty strangers. Add vodka and stir…”

DAN RATTINER loves to invent preposterous tales. In Dan’s Papers, the free newspaper he founded in Montauk in 1960, he occasionally runs a bogus story to see if anyone notices. In 1966, he reported on a sea serpent sighting in Bridgehampton (WCBS fell for it and sent out a helicopter). And in 1991, he made up a…

Newsday Published an entire chapter from Dan Rattiner’s book “In The Hamptons”
Without a doubt, this is the greatest book that has ever been written EVER!
From “In The Hamptons” By Dan Rattiner
The East Hampton Cinema on Main Street is where the world-class filmmakers who live here hold movie premieres.
I can think of at least a dozen films that have been introduced here, where they have rolled out the red carpet, put up the felt ropes, and positioned the paparazzi alongside to shoot the stars as they come in. But whenever I pass this theater, what I remember most is the very first premiere ever held here.
As it happens, it was not only the first one but also the biggest and most successful one. The film is still among the 10 highest-grossing movies

Check out this amazing book review that The New York Times did on Dan Rattiner’s new book, “In The Hamptons” that should be on your book buying list this summer.
From the New York Times
HE planned to wear the resplendent straw boater that roosts on his hirsute cranium like a halo, but the day commenced with clouds and drizzle. He reconsidered and downsized.
So Dan Rattiner’s canvas hat, one of eight in an ever-rotating collection of signature toppers owned by this ferociously local newspaper magnate, almost matches the ceiling fans circling above him at Bobby Van’s restaurant. Surely this coordination occurred by coincidence.

There is a new writer for the East End and her name is Jean Marie Pierson. The launch of her new novel, No Good Girls has been a wonderful success. The North Fork Native and Manhatanite had a book party last Saturday at a packed and beautiful Lenz Winery. No Good Girls is a charming and hysterical book about a young single woman living in Manhattan. The wine at Lenz was wonderful and the vibe couldn’t have been any better for Jean and her book. Every copy brought to the event was sold. Looks like No Good Girls author is a super good writer! Congrats!

Here comes the book of the century. “In the Hamptons: My Fifty Years With Farmers, Fishermen, Artists, Billionaires, and Celebrities,” by Dan Rattiner is going to be coming out nationwide with Crown Publishing. Talk about an interesting memoir. The book includes his relationships with people like Bill Clinton, Billy Joel, Richard Nixon and getting fired from working at his father’s pharmacy, White’s Drug Store, in Montauk.
If you want to read about how the Hamptons has been shaped into what it is today while laughing the whole time, you’ll love this book.
Look for it on book shelves everywhere this Spring.
