This was the scene yesterday at Sagg Main where the Bastards of Boom every Monday night head down to the beach to obtain a zen like state through the use of drums. The drumming has gotten so popular that the parking lot becomes completely full and cars park all down the side of the Sagg Main Road. The Samba music goes on from 7 to 9 at night and draws every type of person, all looking just to enjoy the surf and the sounds of the ocean. Some controversy has happened however as police are becoming concerned with the crowds.
Come on people, it’s just a bit of drumming!

Here is a shot by Kathy Rae of the amazing storm that took place Sunday that nearly had the whole East End turn upside down. The storm lasted about a half hour, but it was one heck of a half hour!

The Dan’s Papers blogging team has traveled to Rio for Carnaval, the largest party in the world. It’s one of the most amazing places and should be on your list of things to do before you die. The beaches here are amazing, the people are wonderful and the parties are endless. Can you do winter vacation that’s any better?

From Jimmy Minardi of Minardi Training in East Hampton
On Wednesday, December 5th the Minardi Beach Cam was cut down by criminal/vandal. This cowardly act was carried out with a chain saw or a cordless saws-all between the hours of 5pm and 6am. East Hampton Village Police and detective’s are taking this very seriously, the crime is a 3-count felony. The cam was receiving a overwhelming positive response with over 6 to 7 thousand hits a day from around the world. Moreover the cam was in the process of providing oceanographers and universities with valuable beach erosion information, effects of global warming. and sand migration studies. Also the cam was going to provided weather and ocean conditions for NOAA and EHV Ocean Rescue. This is a tremendous loss to our community and those who just enjoyed looking at the most beautiful beaches in the world .

The cam project was well over 8 thousand dollars and Im already working on replacing it, with even a better system as soon as

After Tropical Storm Noel barrelled through, Montauk Point, East Hampton and Southampton surf-casters have been in pure surf-casting heaven. People are still talking about the 61.44-pound striper caught by Mike Milano at the Locals Tournament at Montauk Point. If you are a surf-caster, get the hell out there, there is no time better then now. Our friend and Montauk Photographer Jack Yee was kind enough to send along to us some of these monstrous fish that they have been catching and will be catching over the weekend. Have fun! Enjoy the sushi!

Now that’s how you launch a clothing line. DonFashions, a new clothing line created by Montauk local and barely 18-years-old P.J. Monte, displayed his fashionable threads along with Southampton swimsuit designer Lu Berry on an outdoor runway at the private beach at Gurney’s Inn. DonFashions, which offers youthful designer clothing with an Italian-mobster twist, attracted the likes of Hampton clothing retailers and photographers. The event, sponsored by Hamptons Vodka and Hamptons Style Magazine among others, had a crowd of well over two hundred people giving a standing ovation for the two designers.
After the launch, Gurney’s redecorated its stunning conference room into a nightclub complete with models, fashionistas and plenty of alcohol. As PJ’s shirts would say, “I am the Don…Bitch”
