Today, Congressman Tim Bishop held a public Tele-Town Hall with thousands of Long Islanders to answer questions about health care reform.
Bishop said, “My goal is for the final bill to ensure that Americans have stable health care coverage that stays with us through life’s ups and downs and won’t bankrupt us in the process. We need a uniquely American solution that builds on the best of what already works to foster competition among insurance plans and provide patients with quality choices.”
Are you for this new health care plan?

Looks like Ted Hults finally seems to understand that when people want you in jail it is important to hire a lawyer. Accused of using community preservation money to pay for East Hampton town’s deficit, former town Budget officer Ted Hults and current Town Supervisor Bill McGintee have been the center of the fiasco. McGintee hired Rudi Giuliani’s firm to fight his legal battle, while Ted Hults has been holding off, that is until this morning.
Attorney Silvia L. Serpe has been hired by Ted and has recently postponed his July 30 court appearance to a later date. Mr. Hults, regarded by most as a very nice man, has put his house on the real estate market, likely to help pay for the upcoming fees, but also because of how everyone he sees in town is treating him.

It’s not all bad news in Real Estate. Investment banker Peter J. Solomon is in contract to buy the East Hampton estate of Mary Howard de Liagre. (Movie star.) The house is 3,500-square-feet and on the water.
The deal is going to set Solomon back $22.5 million, which is what the estate was priced at, and these days, few are willing to the asking price.

Dan Aykroyd, yes it’s true, Dan Aykroyd was in East Hampton over the weekend at Turtle Crossing. My hero was there to show off his new Crystal Head Vodka, which is awesome. Check out his introduction of it below. WHY IS THIS GUY SO AWESOME! FINALLY A VODKA WITH A SKULL HEAD!
This vodka is dead serious. Dan is promoting it like crazy. The video below is hilarious, but…serious? Is he serious?
Do you see any similarities between Crystal Head Vodka and the Bass-O-Matic?

Remember when your older brother told you that a bluefish could bite off your toe while swimming in the ocean? Well, this is the first that we’ve heard of it, but apparently this happened last week. Two surfers were sent to the hospital after they received bites to their toes from bluefish. One bite was so bad that one of the surfers may have completely lost his toe.
NOT COOL!

We love the show, “It’s a Big Big World” which is filmed at the Wainscott Studios and is owned by partners Mitchell Kriegman (the guy who came up with “Clarissa Explains it All) as well as Enclave Inn owner Michael Wudyka. The two had their favorite charachter, “Snook the Sloth” roam around the Hamptons saying hello. Have a look at the pic of Snook and State Assemblyman Fred Thiele below.
Becoming more and more popular with Hollywood, Mitchell and Micheal were among the first, if not the first visionaires for a full all out movie studio in the Hamptons. Check out Wainscott Studios.
Here’s our favorite video clip of Mitchell.

Yep, it’s celeb spotting season, and do we have a rare Hamptons one for you. Luke Wilson and brother Owen Wilson were outside of the Candy Kitchen in Bridgehampton. As one very big fan of the movie Old School and Wedding Crashers, I got a little psychecd.
The two were decked out in classic beach gear in a black Mercedes. We hope to see them out, these guys are the best.
