“Rudy” Giuliani had a confrontation in Bridgehampton. Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was crossing the street when a man by the name of John W. McCluskey, a documentary filmmaker, was doing the same thing and the two had words that escalated into physical threats. It is unclear who made physcial threats first. Mr. McCluskey was arrested for harrassment and is out on $100 bail.

Yep, Calvin Klein really did tear down his home and is rebuilding a newer, smaller, more modern home on the beach in Southampton. The designer certainly has gained a lot of attention in his neighborhood, which include, oh you know, a few billionaires and such.

Remember when my Dad wrote a story about the Bridgehampton School being closed down?
Well the voters came out and the voters spoke and the HIGH SCHOOL IS STAYING OPEN! Way to make Democracy work and to do the right thing folks. Congrats to Douglas DeGroot, Ronnie White and Lillian Tyree who won the three contested seats and are in favor of keeping the school open.
We here still can’t believe that they attempted to close it. It would have raised taxes for the area, parents would be sending kids to a school where they had absolutely no say in their kid’s education, and they’d be jammed into larger class sizes. Killer Bees Bridgehampton pride is here to stay.

Dava Sobel is awesome.
The author that has been able to capture the imaginations of the entire world after telling that fascinating history of the mechanical watch and its importance to world history in terms of navigating the seas, will be in Amagansett. That’s one of the benefits of being on the East End, you can go to the library and meet one of the most famous and important writers of our time.
The author, who lives in Springs, has also written “Galileo’s Daughter,” “Longitude” and “Planets” will give a lecture about her books at the Amagansett free library tomorrow. Definitely reccommend this one.
DAVA SOBEL AT THE AMAGANSETT LIBRARY - Dava Sobel, world renown author will lecture. Takes place at 2 p.m. Amagansett Free Library, 215 Main Street, Amagansett, 631-267-3810.

Philippe Chow is opening Philippe in East Hampton on May 14th. The restaurant is where Lily Pond and The Kobe Club once stood. In addition to the East Hampton location, catering from Philippe will be available throughout the East End, with Philippe Chow himself available to cook in private homes and boats according to a press release.
We still do not know if Lilly Pond, the nightclub, formerly Flirt, formerly NV Tsunami (That goes way back!) is going to change names. Whether it does or doesn’t, regardless of the name changes, this is one awesome and we mean awesome night club and restaurant to go to in East Hampton. Make freinds with the doorman as soon as you can.
