It was quite a ride. Michael Mancuso Air Shows took us up for a bit of flying in his Finn McCool’s stunt plane (he is also the owner of Finn McCools) and our brave managing editor Susan Galardi took the first spin. Afterwards we went up with Patti Kraft, our account executive at Dan’s Papers who braved some stunts. Needless to say, everybody was a little queasy. We highly reccomend you check out this great adventure and support the charity C.A.R.E. by heading down to Finn McCools and buying a raffle ticket to win a chance for a stunt plane ride like this one.

Patti supports Susan as she puts on her parachute before the jump.
Patti, you are just nuts!
Go Patti go!
Looking a little queasy there Patti.
Okay Michael, you look very cool in that helmet.
Thanks again for the amazing trip and the great pics. You can also check out some video below!

Our friends over at Bideawee sent us this info. How cute is she!
Hello there, my name is Hazel. I am a 7 year old Greyhound mix and I’m a very social girl. I just love to meet new people. I enjoy going for long walks and car rides with my human friends. Right now I’m searching for my forever home, but I know it won’t be long before I’ve found a loyal companion to take me home and make me a true member of the family. I’d be best in a home with children over eight and as an only doggy child. And just so you know, I’m great with my kitty friends. I promise to be your new best friend, if you’ll be mine.Call Heidi Gaumet, Bideawee, Westhampton, NY 11977

Yes they did.
On Tuesday, The Real Housewives of New York (and the Hamptons) return and according to insiders it will features even more miserablely rich and old house wives yelling, getting drunk and casually insulting the middle class even more this season. The show, which of course shoots in the Hamptons (how could they not?) will certainly draw a womderful amount of positive attention to the “class” that hits our streets in the summer.
You want to embarass yourself for no other reason then attention on television ladies, be our guest. It certainly is fascinating stuff!~
OH WE CAN’T WAIT!

You do the crime you do the time.
Terri Gaines, the former treasurer of the Montauk Fire Department that got caught writing checks to herself in the ball park of half a million bucks will be off to prison this week. The very much in the media Gaines pleaded guilty for the theft and for spending the money on partying, trips to Vegas, and shopping.
She was able to reduce the amount of prision time down to 1 to 3 years instead of 15 years because she wrote a check back to the fire department for $510,709. She owes about 30 grand more, but she agreed to pay that back when she gets out of the big house.
Let’s hope that the $510,709 she paid back was stolen from the police department!
And a chapter in the money scandals of the Hamptons is closed.

Richard Gere has put his homes in the Hamptons, the quite lovely house in Water Mill, on the market for rent. Richard and his wife Carey Lowell bought the house for $2.75 million back in 2001.
The seven-bedroom home might just be what you are looking for this summer!

When Henry Uihlein in Montauk speaks, people listen. The owner of Uihlein’s Marina in Montauk is one of the most respected residents of the community, and according to him, the Cricket II, Frank Mundus’s famed shark fishing boat based inspiring the movie “Jaws”, should be left in Montauk as a memorial. And he’s gonna put up his own money to make it all happen.
When the famous shark hunter died last year, his boat was left in Uihlein’s yard, and an auction for it ensued. The minimum bid was $100,000, but nobody bit. This week, somebody bid $40,000. Henry Uihlein has proposed that the town board gives him a loan to buy the boat, which he personally promises to pay back for a Mundus Memorial. After all, he was only the greatest and most infamous shark fisherman on the planet.
Whether or not this will work out and keep the boat in Montauk doesn’t not seem to be clear. Either way however, Henry Uihlein has made it clear that he will not sit around and not have a memorial for Frank Mundus. If the boat gets sold at the lower price or not, he is going to do something about it.
Perhaps a big shark tank?
Watch a bio of Frank Mundus Below.

Ethan Dornfeld is doing right by his community. This young kid has orgainzed a food program that is getting 125 pounds of food a month to the needy by starting the first Rock and Wrap It Up food program on the East End in West Hampton. The food recovery program that Ethan had started in the Westhampton Beach School District. This is a very important program that has been helpful to people in need during this difficult time. Ethan had met with Chris Herr, the new principal of Westhampton Beach High School during the summer, before starting nineth grade, to discuss starting the program in Westhampton Beach.
The principal was completely supportive from the very beginning as was the food services provider, Whitson’s who packs the food on a weekly basis and has it ready for Ethan to take it to the Long Island Council of Churches in Riverhead.
Good job kid.
