That’s right, the biggest block buster of the year mentions East Hampton in one of the early scenes where the comic book weapons billionaire Tony Stark, the alias behind Iron Man, decides that he needs to own a Jackson Pollack from his Spring era. He is of course corrected by his assistant who tells him that it is not from his “Spring era, but is from his house in Springs which is a part of East Hampton New York.
Awww yeah! Iron Man gives a shout out to the Hamptons. We saw the movie this weekend and it is AWESOME! It’s playing in East Hampton.

That’s right, this weekend head down to the Hamptons Home and Garden Show to get some great ideas for your home this weekend. This relatively new event has grown in size and slendor faster then we have ever seen an event grow. It is amazing, the tent set up for this weekend is going to have every little thing your heart desires for a home, including green technology, golf course installation and the ever popular wine cellar.

East Hampton’s Howard Schultz is sticking to coffee. The chairman and chief executive of Starbucks turned over management control of the corporation’s in-house record label, Hear Music, to Concord Music Group. The label launched last year with Amagansett resident Paul McCartney’s album Memory Almost Full.

Check out this amazing book review that The New York Times did on Dan Rattiner’s new book, “In The Hamptons” that should be on your book buying list this summer.
From the New York Times
HE planned to wear the resplendent straw boater that roosts on his hirsute cranium like a halo, but the day commenced with clouds and drizzle. He reconsidered and downsized.
So Dan Rattiner’s canvas hat, one of eight in an ever-rotating collection of signature toppers owned by this ferociously local newspaper magnate, almost matches the ceiling fans circling above him at Bobby Van’s restaurant. Surely this coordination occurred by coincidence.

For foreigners, rentals in the Hamptons sure as heck is are bargains. The British Pound and the Euro compared to the dollar are more valuable then ever, and real estate agents throughout the Hamptons are noticing that this summer it is all about the European clientle when it comes to rentals.
As of this morning 1 Euro is equal to $1.53 cents and 1 Pound is equal to $1.97, and that’s after the dollar increased a bit in value today!
What does this mean for us? Experts all agree that you can expect European tourists to take advantage of the exchange. So for the waiters and waitresses of the Hamptons, MAKE SURE YOU MAKE IT CLEAR THAT THEY HAVE TO TIP! And for the real estate agents, might be a good time to buff up on your French and German.
