The Queen of All Media, Perez Hilton of Perezhilton.com, one of the most popular gossip websites in the world, is supporting the Wounded Warrior Project this morning. The project raises money for wounded troops coming home from war, and they ride bicycles, some with no arms or legs, across the country, begining in Montauk. The grass roots project has raised millions and was started by East Hampton local phyisical trainer, gym owner and all around superhero Chris Carney. Check out the Perez shout out and support the cause! WE LOVE PEREZ AND ARE ADDICTED!

We’ve seen Eileen Hickey-Hulme down at surfer yoga with Jimmy Minardi, so how can we not let you know about her art show? Plus, we absolutely love her art! Click right here and see an amazing video that she made for the show!
Eileen Hickey-Hulme, Bang, Bang!!!! Guns and Roses” at Prudential Douglas Elliman 16 Main Street, Route 27 Amagansett 631-267-9700 May 1-31, 2008. Opening Reception Saturday, May 3, 2008, 6-8 PM.
#1 with a bullet employing such materials as lipstick, nail polish, eye shadow and marine paint, Eileen Hickey-Hulme’s paintings question and disrupt the viewer’s understanding and experience of a painting. Although Hickey-Hulme’s work does not always involve paint on canvas, it continually reflects upon the fundamental questions concerning painting today, including authenticity, hierarchy, meaning and context.

Okay, for those of you that don’t know this yet, The Montauk Yacht Club does not require a membership and is open to the public for use. Did I mention THE MONTAUK YACHT CLUB IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!
That’s right, this amazing, ridiculous, awesome, super elegant place may sound like a private club, but it isn’t, it just FEELS like a private club.
Well they invited us down there for a bite to eat with some wine, and we have to say, it was excellent. It’s a great Montauk gem, and the new management is pulling out all of the bells and whistles, so get down there and get some food, a massage, or spend the night at the hotel!

If we had to choose one sign that says the Hamptons summer scene has started, we’d have to choose the weekend Cyril’s opens. This bar/restaurant on the stretch to Montauk gets so busy during the day, you have to walk for nearly a mile sometimes to get to it after you park your car on the side of the road. It is so much fun it is ridiculous, and the man behind the bar is an absolute legend. We’ll see you there this Friday for the opening party!

Last Friday at Doctor and Mrs. Dan Damianos’ Duck Walk North Vineyards on the North Fork in Southold was one amazing party. The couple donated the winery space and it was hosted by Decision Women (www.decisionwomen.com), an organization that networks professional women and women business owners who raise money for charities. Clara Macri, the Chairwoman of the event, a former Wall Street success and world traveler was all smiles with Lise Poulos, the EVP and CAO of Monster.com, who was the title sponsor of the evening. Also attending were the people from the law firm Jaspan Schlesinger Hoffman LLP. Amazingly, Bay Fireworks CEO Charles Rappa donated 10,000 dollars worth of fireworks for the evening.
Decision Women that evening raised money for Long Island Cares, The Harry Chapin Food Bank, the Long Island Farm Bureau and Good Shepherd Hospice. The night featured an amazing array of cocktails, wine and food, and the good people at Buoy One Restaurant and Caterers kept the food and the raw oysters flying through the party. Check out some of the party in the video below.

Did you have any idea that the horrifyingly, American Psycho-esque thriller “Funny Games” starring Naomi Watts was filmed on Shelter Island and in Southampton? None of us here did either, but the sick movie was filmed right here. You mean to tell us Naomi Watts was running around here and we didn’t even no about it! Shame on us!
Needless to say, we are hearing some pretty good things about the movie and by good we mean bad, and by bad we mean sickening, and by sickening we mean good. It’s going on our list of Hamptons movies worth checking out though, after all, that’s Shelter Island your looking at. The movie may be creepy, but Shelter Island sure as heck isn’t. Okay maybe it is in the winter time when it is so quiet there, but the summer and spring time is radical. Naomi Watts? NAOMI WATTS? AND WE DIDN’T KNOW?
Check the trailer here, if you dare.

The Southampton Parrish Art Museum has on display some pretty crazy origami art. The exhibition will be running through June, so you still have some time. But it is so insanely cool, definitely a good place to bring your kids or to just go to see what people can do with a piece of paper. Paper Transformed: Origami brings together nearly one hundred works by some of the world’s leading contemporary origami artists and demonstrates the diversity of technique and wide range of interpretation possible in origami today.
It is so worth checking out.

From Dan’s Papers
“It’s a good time to start a bank,” said Chris Becker, President and CEO of Georgica Bank, at a recent presentation for potential investors held at the Bridgehampton Inn. Although I’m not very familiar with the banking industry, I do have investment experience and a business degree, and what he said rang true. With the ongoing mortgage crisis, rise in foreclosures and overall downturn of the economy, starting a new bank, or any new business, might not seem like a good idea. But with a clean balance sheet and availability of credit, Georgica Bank is
