Dan’s Papers isn’t the only paper that likes to make up stories. The rumor that Tiger Woods is moving to Southampton is not true, but even Dan here has to agree that it made for one heck of a story. For about one day, much of the country got word that Tiger Woods bought a $65 million estate thanks to a blurb about it in the New York Post. Our office here was getting calls from Connecticut radio stations to confirm, and most of us here just said huh?
Turns out that the blurb was a mistake, reps from Tiger Woods made a public statement that Tiger is not buying the home and they have no idea where the information in the Post came from.
In other news about celebrities who own homes in the Hamptons that are turning out false, P. Diddy made headlines today about an L.A. Times article portraying him being involved with the murder of Tu-pac.
CNN.com reported:
Sean “Diddy” Combs has denied a report by the Los Angeles Times that his associates were responsible for the 1994 robbery and shooting of Tupac Shakur at a New York recording studio, and that he knew about the attack in advance. “The story is a lie,” the hip-hop mogul said in a statement Monday. “It is beyond ridiculous and completely false.
Hey! Dan’s Papers is suppossed to be the news outlet that delivers the occasional whopper, get out of our rice bowl!
By the way, the Hampton Subway construction is going really well
