We love it when you folks do this.
Dear Dan,
Enjoyed your article about your Thanksgiving trip to Bulgaria. What an adventure! In that vein I’m sending you this photo of our Thanksgiving in South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe. We were invited by the U.S. ambassador to South Africa to stay with him while we toured Cape Town and Pretoria. The ambassador hosted members of the Peace Corps and the marines for Thanksgiving dinner at his residence in Pretoria.
On our way from viewing Victoria Falls from the Zambia side, we entered Zimbabwe to see the view from there. While crossing the bridge into Zimbabwe, we stopped to take this picture. I just happened to have a copy DAN’S PAPERS in my backpack that I had been reading in the plane on the way. Pictured here are myself and our friend, Dee. My husband is taking the photo.
Hope we both have more adventures we can talk about next year!
Regards,
Alicia and Bill Winowsky and Dee McKinnon

We’ll keep you up to date on the leads police are following so far. We can’t let this happen out here.
One of Oprah Winfrey’s favorite designers, Edward Wilkerson, scared off an intruder who was at his East Hampton mansion while it was under construction. Needless to say, he was a little scared himself. He was quoted in the New York Post regarding the Hamptons saying, “You’re on your own. It’s like the Wild West out there.”

Here is the answer to the Hamptons models video. Sounds like Ojas has one heck of a job!
hello,
I am the owner and producer of the 2008 desiclub.com calendar, along with my business partner, Saroosh Gull, editor of desiclub.com. A desi is anyone of south asian origin (india, pakistan, bangladesh, sri lanka)
This is our second calendar, and we wanted a location that was upscale, famous for a luxury lifestyle, and filled with promise for exciting beach photography. So we decided on The Hamptons because of it’s proximity to New York City, and name recognition. We shot for one week in august 2007,a week I will remember for not getting any sleep! The villages of westhampton beach, and quogue were very helpful, and didn’t give us any problem obtaining beach permits. Although sometimes our ideas didn’t meet our budget (we wanted to do some shots at a nearby vinyard and venture further east to some clubs like “pink elephant”, perhaps some polo grounds) we still got some stunning photography. Hopefully everyone buys a calendar, and enjoys our free video!

Who says you can’t model in the Hamptons during the dead of winter?!
We are pumped about this calendar, but who the heck are these people anyway? They are certainly not local.
Thanks for sending this one our way. It just got a little hotter in here. What beach is this anyway?

Montauk, the commercial fishing dragger Jason and Danielle and an actor named Nick Gregory recently got together on the high seas to shoot a commercial for Gorton’s of Gloucester, a seafood company based in Massachusetts. The advertising campaign has Mr. Gregory acting as the head fisherman for Gorton’s, sporting a rough and tough beard and wearing yellow rain slicks. He hails from Sag Harbor.

Is a giant gas ball bigger then a cruise liner in our future? The news has hit the streets that the Broadwater project, a 1,200-foot-long liquefied natural gas ship that will be placed in the middle of Long Island Sound is allegedly resorting to bribes to get voting approval. We just got word that Peter Maniscalco, the president of the organization Renew Community Earth organized a protest in Manhattan against the New York League of Conservation Voters for accepting money from Broadwater and then changing their position on the issue. They have denied the allegations.

Solé East, formerly the Shepherds Neck Inn in Montauk just wants to turn its music up 1.1 decibels over the limit. During the summer, they were responsible for three noise violations for not getting a permit for music on thier property. Last week Dave Cerva, the owner of Sole East went before the East Hampton Town Board to say he felt that one of his neighbors had it out for him and that he had purchased sound detecting equipment to ensure that the noise level stayed down. He nearly lost his ability to play music on his property until he finally made it clear that he was making every effort to keep the noise volume down.
Okay, we understand that music can get too loud, but music that can never get too loud is…

From Jimmy Minardi of Minardi Training in East Hampton
On Wednesday, December 5th the Minardi Beach Cam was cut down by criminal/vandal. This cowardly act was carried out with a chain saw or a cordless saws-all between the hours of 5pm and 6am. East Hampton Village Police and detective’s are taking this very seriously, the crime is a 3-count felony. The cam was receiving a overwhelming positive response with over 6 to 7 thousand hits a day from around the world. Moreover the cam was in the process of providing oceanographers and universities with valuable beach erosion information, effects of global warming. and sand migration studies. Also the cam was going to provided weather and ocean conditions for NOAA and EHV Ocean Rescue. This is a tremendous loss to our community and those who just enjoyed looking at the most beautiful beaches in the world .
Please contact EHV Detective Scott Aldrich at 631-324-1026 or detectivealdrich@gmail.com or you can call me personally at 631-680-30o0 or email jminardi@mac.com ALL leads and info are guaranteed to remain anonymous.
The cam project was well over 8 thousand dollars and Im already working on replacing it, with even a better system as soon as
I can obtain the funds. If anyone is interested in contributing to the replacement of the cam please let me know.
Best Vibe Jimmy Minardi
