Here comes the film festival. British born CG artist, Andrew McPhillips has caught the eye of the judges of both Toronto and the Hampton’s International Film Festivals.
‘Blood Will Tell’ is a provoking 3d animated horror film which World Premiered at the prestigious Toronto International before being invited to hold its U.S premier in Southampton . The six-minute short is made with a unique technique based on the Victorian “tin type” photographic process.
McPhillips is better know for his visual effects on AI : Artificial Intelligence, Minority Report, Mission Impossible II and the Academy Award nominated Shrek II and Mighty Joe Young. McPhillips is currently the Head of Lighting at LAIKA Inc.in Portland Oregon.
Blood will tell is a six minute, sci-fi horror film set in 16th Century Holland. A mysterious visitor who is hopelessly sick, attempts to hide from death in a dark, mosquito infested well. But the darkness can’t hide him, or the surrounding villages for very long … Blood will tell.
The film also caught the attention of Icelandic band Sigur Ros, who were keen to be part of the project and generously contributed their music to the score.
