The Price is Wrong

Yes, talking about money is tacky.
But lately, there’s been a money issue on my mind, and until this morning, I didn’t think anyone else would understand. The prices of iced-coffee and frozen yogurt have been inching up, penny by penny, ever since July!
The increases have been slow and steady, almost unnoticeable. But I’d be oblivious to ignore that my favorite treats are at an all-time high! A small frozen yogurt at The Fudge Company was $3.75, and now is $5! Sans sprinkles.
Little did I know, everyone I work with has been beleaguered by this too.
A colleague just had a tantrum when he walked into Starbucks with his usual 3 bucks, only to find out he was 7 cents short. He emailed, ” The Starbucks increase is probably a national change, but the Venti ice coffee, with tax, went up to 3.07 and it was 2.97!”
Another writer noted that the chicken salad at The Golden Pear went up to $20 a pound. “INSANE!”
There’s nothing we can do. This is the season to make money, whether you own a candy store or sell million-dollar beach mansions.
We grin, bare it and go broke in the meantime. But at least we go down in style….suckers that we are.
