Yes! The piano man is back! Actor Roy Scheider, (you know him from JAWS) just sold his house to Billy Joel for $18 million. According to Newsday, the deal is supposed to close on Tuesday and Joel can move into his new Sagaponack estate.
The five-bedroom, five-bath, four-fireplace home includes views of the ocean and will be a perfect spot for Billy Joel. He is also putting his Centre Island home on the market, and (I did not know this) owns a waterfront house in Sag Harbor.
As a tremendous Billy Joel fan, I couldn’t be happier about this. Having him around adds tons of positive energy to the area and perhaps we could get lucky at 9 o’clock on a Saturday, watching the regular crowd shuffle in, and see Billy Joel sitting next to an old man making love to his tonic and gin.
