Can this be true? I just got text message from Tom Swinimer, the delivery manager from Dan’s Papers.
Text reads as follows. “Dave, I’m driving by the gas station across from the office in Bridgehampton and there is a sign that reads that a Hooters is coming!”
“Send it to me”
Pic below.
This has to be a joke. There is no way the Southampton Town Board would let a Hooters open up.
Or would they? Sign is completely real. This photo has been verified.

The premise of the show is according to the Daily News is, “The veteran stage and film star, 47, will play a celebrity author who is hired by a millionaire to run his struggling Hamptons newspaper.

“Today we proudly present our Ten Year Hamptons/North Fork Market Report, produced in conjunction with Miller Samuel to provide you and your clients with the most comprehensive information available.
The Hamptons and North Fork housing markets continue to hold their own, seeing the same trends that we are seeing in New York City. Like all housing markets in the region, the Hamptons and North Fork markets saw a year over year decline in prices, similar to Manhattan. The median sales price in 2009 fell 10% to $675,000 from 2008 but more than doubled over the past decade and the market saw a surge of activity at the end of 2009.
We produce our market reports because I believe access to timely information in this ever-changing market is one of the greatest resources we can offer to our clients, and we remain committed to providing the best information and services in the industry. Coming soon are our exclusive Ten Year Market Studies for Manhattan and our exclusive Townhouse report. We trust that you and your clients will find them useful.”
Warmest regards,
Dottie Herman

Southampton Hospital will be implementing a new policy to create a totally tobacco-free environment at the Hospital and all 16 offsites. The policy will be implemented on November 18, 2010, in celebration of National Smoke Out day. With smoking and breathing second-hand smoke being the leading causes of many illnesses, the Hospital has an obligation to the community to address this issue.
“We are optimistic that the new policy will help us reach our goal of ensuring a healthy environment for our patients, their families and our staff,” said Southampton Hospital’s President and CEO Robert S. Chaloner.
Although the buildings have been tobacco-free for many years, people have been permitted to smoke in designated areas outside of the facilities. These smoking areas will be removed on November 18 in order to eliminate the dangers from second-hand smoke and to continue to fulfill the Hospital’s mission by promoting a healthy lifestyle. The new policy will apply to all Southampton Hospital facilities and their grounds, including parking lots.
